On 25th May 2020 a Chinese national residing in greater Noida high rise was assaulted by another resident for feeding a stray dog.
The Chinese national is a woman who works in an electrical company in Noida. On the morning when she was out for her walk a man who lives in the same society as hers beat her black and blue with a hard wooden stick. Her fault was that she was feeding a stray dog who apparently fought with the pet dog of the man.
Now nothing can be more ridiculous and shameful than this. The woman tried to lodge an FIR at the local police station but as usual the police didn't.
The man is in his 50s and he snatched the stick from the guards hand and ran after the lady and best her with it. She has sustained injuries on her private parts as well.
The man committed three crimes,:
Beating a dog feeder
Beating a woman
Bearing a foreign national
Yet the greater Noida police which falls in the state of Uttar Pradesh didn't find the case worthy of an FIR.
It was after the intervention of PFA Gautam Budh Nagar ( Kaveri Rana) and the legal team of PFA ( Vishal Gautam PFA legal councillor) that an FIR has been lodged and the man was arrested.
We are in the 21st century but it seems India is going backwards to the dark ages where neither women are safe nor animals. Both are beaten up and the police does nothing.
If Delhi and Delhi NCR are so unsafe then one can well imagine what it must be like in other parts of India.
