Just few days back two incidents of animal cruelty by young boys was posted. in the first incident few boys can be seen drowning a five year old dog in a pond just for fun. In the second one a boy can be seen hanging a cat to death again just for fun. In both the incidents the boys were kiling the helpless animals just for making a tik tok video. When it's difficult to punish the culprits and justice looks impossible the victims and the people demanding justice reach out to only one person. The former Union Minister and Founder of People for Animals Maneka Sanjay Gandhi.
She is an institution by herself. Her name is enough to scare the perpetrators and the law breakers in India. She has the guts and the might to go even against her own party members if need be. We have seen her locking horns with Ministers of her own party on issues related with animal welfare. She is an animal rights activist first and then a politician. Wish India had more such committed politicians in the field of animal welfare.
She has been the pillar behind the COVID 19 warriors who have been fighting hard to sustain street animals during these trying times. Without her support and 24 / 7 reachability it would not have been possible for the caregivers to feed the animals or to rescue them during lockdown.
People again reached out to her for bringing justice to the dog and the cat who died just because someone was enjoying shooting their death on a tiktok video.
She has once again intervened to bring justice to the poor dog who was drowned and the cat who was hanged.
She immediately wrote to the Tik Tok India head to do the following:
1 Tiktok itself should remove any form of gratitous violence against animals
2 All users posting such content and videos shall have their accounts cancelled by Tiktok
3 Tiktok shall give the names and addresses of such law violaters to the authorities so that they may be punished.
But the Tiktok spokesperson just had to say that according to their company guideline no one is allowed to post any video of animal cruelty and they as per policy remove such content from their platform.
The company has still not shared the names and addresses of the perpetrators and it seems they have not cancelled their accounts too.
Maneka Gandhi has written a very strong letter to the Tiktok head where she has said that the company is not following the government of India orders and not abiding by the Indian laws. To read the letter kindly on the link below:

Is it not sad that the corporates have become so money minded that they are ready to compromise anything and everything for the sake of money. Tiktok India is the living example of it.........
