The fianacial capital and the tinseltown of India also houses the goons of India who without any fear of law beat the law abiders and kill innocent animals. What is wrong with this city? And why aren't the big wicks of the city doing anything?
The city of glamour and financial power is so poor in ethics and morals. Complete lawlessness plagues the city of Mumbai.
On 26th April 2020 a 58 year old man was beaten up by the people living in his neighbouring society. The fault of the good man was that he was feeding the dogs right in front of his society. A complaint was lodged against the miscreants. And the police gave full assurance that the man and his wife Madhu Chanda who also happens to be an animal rights activist shall not be troubled by anybody in future for feeding the dogs.

But today on 27th April 2020 Madhu and her husband were again stopped from feeding the dogs in a building which is under construction. As the labourers are no longer there therefore the couple feed around 16 dogs who live in the construction site. For the full report kindly go on the following link:

Both the incidents of dog feeder being hit and the dog being kicked have been covered by times of India. Kindly go on the following link to read how animals and caregivers are being treated in the city where the richest and the most powerful of India reside.
What is wrong with these animal haters? They neither feed the dogs themselves nor allow others to feed. And on top of it they kill animals and beat them without any provocation.
And what is the Mumbai Administration doing? Either they should ensure that the animal feeders do not face any problem while feeding or then they should make provision to feed themselves.
And what about the prevention of cruelty to animals act? And the Dog rules2001?
Does the common man of India even aware about these rules?
While the students in schools and colleges are taught about the wildlife act they are not taught about the prevention of cruelty to animals act. They know nothing about dog rules 2001 or for that matter about dog behaviour. They don't live with lions and tigers, rather they are surrounded by stray dogs everywhere. Hence, there is an urgent need to introduce this very important act in the school and college syllabus apart from making guidelines for management of stray dogs in educational institutions. This is the need of the hour and the AWBI should do something about it. Why wait for catastrophy to happen?
Why should Madhu and her husband take the responsibility of feeding all the dogs in their neighbourhood? They are community dogs, hence it is the responsibility of everyone living in their society to care for those dogs. But who will tell them?
The caregiver today is not only constantly harassed, abused and physically assaulted but is also treated as an outcast. As if they are from planet Mars.
Today every dog feeder is risking his life to feed the dogs and spending thousands of rupees from his own pocket not only to feed the dogs but also to meet their medical expenses. While the doctors, policeman, vendors etc are being hailed and garlanded and called COVID 19 warriors, the animal feeders are only getting brickbats.
No one is undermining their contribution to the society but at the same time the animal feeders contribution is no less.
This breed of people are not looking for garlands, all they need is peace and some respect for the thankless job they are doing.
