Not a day goes by when a dog is not killed or a caregiver is not bullied by their own neighbours or people who hate dogs. Very few get reported and of them very few get recorded on cameras.

Incidents of dog cruelty have been reported from Punjab.

This incident took place in the city of Amritsar where the caregivers were asked not to feed the dogs. That too by some unknown goons. They are asking the colony people not to feed dogs and they are hitting the  dogs with sticks and bats. Go on the following link to see the video:

The state of Punjab has a high incidence of COVID 19 patients but we can see how casually these people are taking COVID -19. It seems these people don't even belong to that area. Then how are they roaming so freely? Are they even aware that it is not the dogs who would be spreading the virus but they who are neither wearing masks nor following social distancing. Lockdown is meant to stay at home. The dog feeders come out of their homes to feed the animals but what are these people coming out for? They are just there to create nuisance.

Just last week seven dogs were poisoned out of which one survived and the rest all died. This incident also took place in the city of Amritsar. For a detailed report kindly go on the link below:

In another incident a dog was used in the most cruel fashion by his owner. Such people don't deserve to own dogs. They use their dogs for entertainment. For them dog fight is a great sport and what a way to use their time during lockdown.  To watch the plight of the dog kindly go on the link below:

How can the people of Delhi be behind when it comes to harassing the caregivers. They are far ahead of any city of India in creating such nuisance.

This incident has been reported by Rashi Misra a resident of East Delhi. She is a law abiding citizen and knows her rights and the rights of the dogs. Very few are as bold and courageous as she is.

She has two pets and feeds around 100 to 150 dogs daily. In her area people are blatantly flouting the lockdown norms by not wearing a mask and not following social distancing. In her neighbourhood people are calling maids in their homes and calling car helpers to clean the cars. All this is absolutely banned in India at the moment. Rashi is right in saying that the CM of Delhi should do something about the caregivers, and the stray animals. They are the worst affected.

The dogs have always been tortured and harassed in the past and the administration has always turned a blind eye and they are still doing the same. The administration never cared and is still not caring about the animals but what about COVID-19?

Isn't COVID 19 their priority?

The number of patients and the containment zones in Delhi is only increasing  day by day and thanks to some of the RWAs who are turning a blind eye to what their residents are doing. Children playing in the parks, young people jogging and old sitting on benches is a common sight.

Is it possible that the maids and car helpers  enter a colony without the knowledge of the RWA? It's impossible. So why are they allowing them? It seems they are allowing because they don't want to displease their majority voters who are finding lockdown very inconvenient. The RWAs are obliging them with the hope that they will vote for them in the next elections. Not that all the RWAs are irresponsible but many are.

It's time the Delhi Govt ensured more strictness in residential colonies. They have to be stricter with law breakers and not animal feeders. The animal feeders are few but they are law abiding citizens.  .

The police lately have become very strict and not allowing anyone to commute without passes. Rahul (M-9910776938) and Anil (M-8527953037) who failed to make their passes earlier are now finding it difficult to feed the stray animals. They have tried several times for an e pass but each time their application has been rejected.  Why their application got rejected only the govt knows coz they are clueless.

Now what will happen to those animals whom Rahul and Anil are feeding? The feeders are unable to reach them because they do not have pass and unfortunately no arrangement has been done by the govt for such animals.

It's time now for the Delhi Govt to take some positive and humane measures towards the voiceless and their caregivers.

Firstly they should  take action against dog haters who come out of their homes in large numbers without masks and without maintaing  social distancing?

Secondly, they should  bust the myth that dogs and cats spread  COVID19. to humans.

And if possible try to make the commuting of the animal feeders hassle free.

Caution and Compassion both are required to win over COVID-19 but at the moment it seems Delhi is devoid of both.
