In spite of the dog laws which prohibits any kind of cruelty and relocation of dogs in India the dogs are still relocated and killed and poisoned. That too openly without any fear of law. This is done both by the ignorant as well as the knowledgeable who know very well that relocation and cruelty are a crime. They do it because they get support from the law enforcement agency whether it be the corporation, politicians or the police.

The animal lovers and activists have made WhatsApp groups and groups on Facebook and other social media. This is helping them at least to connect with each other and share their woes and pains.

Not a day goes by when there is no cruelty against the four legged friend or his caregiver in the capital.

Given below are some WhatsApp messages which have been posted in the last few days. The names of the accused has been changed and their mobile number deleted.

1.) The following message was posted on the save animal group on 11th March 2020 by Varsha (M-9555783927). This is regarding both dog cruelty and caregiver harassment.

"Location-ram nagar shahdara.. This dog is near arwachin school. He is in very bad condition. Can someone please rescue him and send him somewhere? I won't be able to help him because as I mentioned yesterday in my post I'm getting mentally harassed by neighbours for feeding dogs. I can help in locating the dogs.. Please someone help him"

2.) This message was posted on save animal group on 11th March 2020 by Akshima (M-9968195100). It is regarding pet dog abandonment and dog cruelty which is both an offence as per animal laws in India.

3.) This message was posted in Rudransh Charitable Trust group on 9th March 2020. The reporter (M- 9667705877). This is regarding both dog cruelty and caregiver harassment. The caregiver Vubha had given details of all the members of her RWA including the president of her colony who are harassing her but that has not be shown here

"I'm Vibha kapoor (M-- 9810737537) reside of flat no. 56,laxmi Vihar appts. H-3, vikaspuri. People are harrasing me as I feed strays outside the appts. Today one person is calling a gang to kill my dogs."

4.) This message was posted on 7th March 2020 on save animal group. It is about dog relocation The reporter is Ritu (M- 9225240121). It seems the dogs were dropped at wrong location after Sterilization. For this offence the corporstion is partly responsible. If the ABC programme was well collaborated with the RWA / caregivers then such relocation would have never occured.

"Hello everyone yeah bacche hamari yaha naye hai East Delhi main hamari location Jhilmil Colony padhti hai.. Anyone rescue asap."

6.) The message about this post which came in save animal group on 10th March 2020 has been posted as a pic on this post (reporter mobile - 9971271327). Kindly see the pic. The incident is of Pitampura, Delhi. It is regarding both dog cruelty and caregiver harassment. The caregiver Satish (M- 8376005362) is being stopped from feeding the dog and harassed.

"⛑️⛑️⛑️⛑️⛑️⛑️⛑️Urgent help required Please share and forward in your groups to save the dogy."

Is there any government machinery where these caregivers can approach and lodge their complaints? The laws are in their favour but does anyone care?

The police and the municipal corporation are suppose to be helping and protecting the dogs and the caregivers but are they doing their duty?

If this is the situation in Delhi then one can well imagine what it must be like in other parts of India.
