This is a case of human cruelty which happened in a school in Baitul. The school authorities asked the guard to beat the dog. And this is what the guard did to the poor dog.

Now what will the school kids learn?

Is it really the fault of the kids that they are scared of dogs and they too often indulge in dog cruelty?

AWBI where are the guidelines for dog management in educational institutions?

Just how many poor dogs will you allow to die in schools and colleges?

When will you wake up?

Mumbai is not only the financial.capital of India but is also the residence of Indians richest businessman and movie stars but the situation of stray dogs or dog feeders is no better than the rest of India. It is just the same. All the glitter and limelight means nothing to the man's best friend. Stray dogs is a very common sight and dogs haters fighting with dog lovers is nothing new.

A person who has recently shifted to a residential area in Malad is stopping a dog feeder from feeding the dogs in the area. The dog feeder has been feeding the dogs of that area for nine long years.

In another incident puppies are unnecessarily being beaten up by drunkard men. There is just no fear of law. And then we say India is not safe for women. It is the same men who later abuse women and children.

Why this Man-Man and Man- Dog conflict?

The answer is very clear. The people just do not know the Dog rules 2001. They are not aware that a dog cannot be relocated or removed from its place or area and feeding dogs is not a crime. Rather it's everyone's duty to take care of the dogs. Also they are not aware that any form of cruelty like beating or killing dogs is a punishable offence. Including our educational institutions.

As per the law the stray dogs are community dogs. Therefore, there feeding and responsibility should be of the community and not just few dog feeders and caregivers.

Just why do the caregivers have to fight for their rights to feed dogs and the rights of their furry friends?

The plight of dogs and the caregivers is the same all over India whether it be Delhi, Baitul, Ghaziabad or Mumbai.

Is it the responsibility of the caregivers alone to tell people about the rights of dogs?

Is it their duty alone to protect the dogs?

We saw the ugly reality of Ghaziabad that how the dog feeders were implicated in a false case of drugging the dogs and how the police has taken  sides with the wrong people.

Whose duty it is to tell the people of India the Dog Rules 2001?

Whose duty it is to safeguard the dogs and the dog feeders?

It is the duty of the animal welfare board of India, municipal corporations and the police to protect the dogs and the caregivers.

But are they doing their duty?
