The Mumbai airport ( Phone 022 66851010, email-  feedback@csia.gvk.com) has kept three dogs to give company to it's passengers. This has been done to relieve their passengers from stress, fear and anxiety. Sometimes passengers just like to play with them and cuddle them. It gives them a good feeling.

Well man and dog are each other's best companion and what can be better than to have a dog by your side while waiting for your plane.

The decision to keep dogs by the Mumbai airport is quite welcome but unfortunately just like any Indian the airport officials too have brought the pedigree breed dogs. What can be more shameful than that.

The Indian dogs are often seen as stray roaming outside the Indian airports. They are shooed away and looked down upon. Had'nt it been more appropriate that the  Mumbai airport had brought Indian dogs inside the airport.

Mumbai being the financial capital of India has thousands of passengers coming to the airport from various parts of the world. Wouldn't it be lovely for the foreign nationals to see the Indian dogs and be in their company rather than the foreign dogs?

When will we Indians learn to respect our own things?

The aviation ministry kindly look into this aspect and replace the pedigree with the Indian breed. Or at least keep a mix of both.

Send circulars to all the Indian airports to get all the Indian stray dogs adopted by the respective airports. Let the people who visit the airports get a feel of the Indian dog. Know that the Indian breed is as good and lovable as any other foreign breed. A dog is a dog no matter which country it belongs to. His loyalty and love for his master does not change with his breed.

This is something which majority of the Indians do not know.
