On the evening of 24th December 2019, a few dogs from Chattarpur Enclave were picked up in a van. The caregiver Ranjana (M-9650021462) was absolutely devastated as she didn't knew where the dogs were taken and who took them. She looked for them at every Sterilization centre where dogs are generally taken for Sterilization of the South Delhi area but she didn't find the dogs. She called up the MCD officials too but no one gave her any clue as to where the dogs are and who took them.

Surprisingly, on 30th evening, exactly after 6 days the dogs have been dropped back at their location and they have all been sterilized. 

Ranjana is so overjoyed to see her four legged friends. She had actually lost all hopes of ever seeing them again. 

Infact everyone was thinking that someone may have got them relocated or someone may have stolen them for dog meat. 

Thank God they are all alive and hail and hearty. 

Ranjana is now taking care of them .They have come after operation so she is ensuring that they are all kept warm as it is freezing cold in Delhi and they all get healthy food. And imagine what a relief it must be to the dogs. Back home and that too in the arms of their caregiver. They too must be overjoyed.

All is well that ends well but Ranjana even today doesn't know where the dogs had gone and which Sterilization centre did the operation? And poor our furry friends they just can't tell us who took them and where had they gone?

Why this secrecy?

Isn't it time that direct collaboration be made between colonies and the sterilization centres?

After all it is a caregiver who is now taking care of the sterilized dogs. So why not take them into confidence and make them a part of the ABC programme?

Why are the dogs picked up from colonies without any written permission from the RWA or the caregiver residing in that area? 

Isn't it the right of the colony people to know where their dogs are going and who is taking them? If the law says that the dogs cannot be relocated then any kind of pick up or drop of dogs should be informed to the residents or people of that area.

By doing this we can easily remove the problem of relocation and removal of dogs from their area and also it will make the system more transparent.
