Anita (M- 9716308312) an animal rights activist and an ardent lover of dogs has been working tirelessly for the stray dogs for more than a decade now. She not only feeds them but also gets them sterilized.
Recently she has had fights with many of her neighbours for getting the young dogs relocated. She not only fought with them for getting the dogs relocated but also got the dogs back home.
on 17th December she came to know of another such incident of relocation of two dogs who are seven month old. They are both siblings and Anita was planning to get the two sterilized very soon.
But before she could do it the dogs are gone. The two unworthy and shameless people living on this planet and responsible for this illegal act are residents of Vasundhara.
Anita first tried to verbally persuade the guilty to bring back the dogs but it was of no use. She then without wasting anytime made a complaint to the SHO of the Indirapuram police station. She has mentioned in her complaint the whereabouts of the two people responsible for the removal of the dogs.
No action has been taken by the police yet. Anita has also contacted the PFA, Ghaziabad for help but she has got no response from there either.
She feels absolutely helpless.
She has been told by other residents of the area that seeing no action being taken the other dog haters are also planning to relocate the dogs of their area.
This is what happens when law becomes weak. The law breaker become stronger and has no fear of law. This is called jungle Raj.
Is this where we are heading?
Is it not the duty of the police to take action and interrogate the two people accused of relocation?
Why is everybidy including Anita seeking help from animal welfare NGOs like PFA?
Isn't it the duty of the municipal corporation to protect the stray dogs and take action against the people who relocate them?
The municipal corporation is entrusted with the job of Sterilization of stray dogs and every year crores of rupees are spent on it but see the outcome?
The dogs are just multiplying?
The two dogs relocated were unsterilized. Had they been at their home place Anita would have got them sterilized. But now what?
What if the dogs are not found?
Will they stop reproducing?
The two people responsible for their relocation are guilty of three things:
1 Under prevention of cruelty to animals act relocation of stray dogs is a punishable offence. Hence the two men should be punished for taking law into their hands
2 They have brought misery to the two dogs. In an unknown location the two dogs will be chased and hounded by other dogs of that location. The dogs are highly territorial and they just cannot stand dogs of other area in their area. Hence, the two dogs may not only face hostility from other dogs but also face starvation and terrible cold. It is winter time in India and it was really cold on 16th and 17th. There is all possibility that the dogs if not found will die very soon. Hence, the two people should be punished for bringing this misfortune on the dogs.
3 The two dogs if they survive will add more to the population of dogs as both of them are unsterilised. Hence, the two men are responsible for multiplying the number of stray dogs on the streets of India.
Will the police take any action against the complaint made by Anita?
Will the two dogs get back safe and sound to their locality?
Will the Municipal corporation take any action against the residents who indulge in this illegal act?
Will it again be PFA who will come to the aid of the two voiceless souls and Anita?
