Today dog feeders Rani and her daughter (M-9868024701) both residents of Mohan Garden were physically assaulted and abused by their own neighbours for taking care and feeding the stray dogs of their area. According to the caregivers one of the dogs was beaten to death by these people on 10 October but that didn't discourage the mother and daughter from feeding other dogs. So today the mother and daughter were physically assaulted for feeding the dogs.
What was the crime of the mother and daughter that their clothes were torn by their own neighbours?
Feeding dogs is not a crime and under prevention of cruelty to animals act the caregiver should be given protection by the Police.
Where is the implementation of this law?
It's been more than three weeks since this petition but it seems the Chief Minister of Delhi has no time to address the problem of overpopulation of stray dogs, the mental and physical abuse which the caregivers are facing on a daily basis and last but not the least the killing and relocation of dogs which is being done as a solution for dog overpopulatiin by the misinformed and illinformed RWAs.
Whose responsibility is it to to tell the RWA and all the residents of Delhi that the only way to handle dog overpopulation in their area is by getting them sterilized (ABC programme) and not by relocating them or killing them.
Why doesn't the Delhi Government with the help of the Municipal.Corporation inform the RWAs of every colony to participate in the ABC programme and not to harass the caregivers for taking care of the dogs.
The caregivers are doing a noble job by taking care of the stray dogs and feeding them. But unfortunately they are being threatened and abused on a daily basis.
