Make Healthcare More Accessible For All

The Issue

I come with the belief that everyone should have the chance to receive healthcare. The harsh reality is that substantial numbers of people avoid seeking medical care due to prohibitive costs or other barriers. This is not a choice anyone should have to make. In America, 20% of adults reported delaying medical care due to its high cost, according to a survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

The human cost of inaccessible healthcare should weigh heavy on our collective conscience as it directly undermines our universal right to health. This is not confined to physical health but extends to mental health services which are notoriously difficult to access for many. Approximately one in five adults in the U.S. (46.6 million) experiences mental illness in a given year, and lack of access to these services can result in devastating outcomes.

In light of these stark facts, we urge lawmakers to enact reforms aimed at expanding access to healthcare. We call for policies that will bridge the divide between those who can afford care and those who are deterred by the cost. In the name of equality, justice, and the fundamental right to health, we must Make Healthcare More Accessible For All. Please sign this petition and contribute to promoting this essential transformation.
