Make Health 7 & 8 full year (or at least a every-other day) class

Make Health 7 & 8 full year (or at least a every-other day) class
The Issue
Health is important. As a matter of fact, health should be prioritized.
But what RAMS (Roseville Area Middle School) thinks, it should be a trimester (12 weeks) class for these reasons.
- People won’t be skipping class, and will not get bored (health is a interesting class in my opinion)
- Preventing burnout
- It can cover more diverse topics
But these are reasons why I want to make it a full year (or atleast an every-other day) class.
- Mastering life skills
Yes, we are in middle school, but mastering things like decision making and refusal skills are a thing health class should teach us.
2. More practice to even more important life skills
Things like CPR and many other things are SUPER important. Since some of the 7th and possibly 8th graders may not be able to have a health class until 10th grade because of extra help in math or English (Math Academy and Learning Academy, or ELD (English Learning Development) )
3. Making more memories
Surprisingly, memories worth of 12 weeks of an elective aren’t enough for others. If the teacher is a good (or a favorited) person, well, yay! If not, just remember the memories the students accidentally or intentionally made. If we can get at least half of a school year’s worth of memories in this class, it can be enough for people..
And finally, the last (and most important) reason…..
4. Meeting CDC guidelines
The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) informs people, whether they be in that country or overseas, if a disease spreads or even a new one starts to spread. Meeting these guidelines can make the district a safe place of all things health.
So you see kids, this is why health should be a full year (or as the title says, at least an every other day class)
Peace out!
