tl;dr: Our Hayes Street Shared Spaces permit is up for renewal this Thursday, October 10, 2024. (Oct 10 update: Both agenda items passed. Thanks for your support!)
Hello car-free Hayes supporters,
This Thursday our one-year permit is up for renewal. We’re asking the city to expand the schedule to include Sundays, and start earlier on weekend days. This is basically the schedule we had from 2020 through 2023, and we’re hoping to restore it.
You can help in two ways:
1) Click here to send an email in support of the Hayes Street Shared Space. It must be received by noon on Wednesday Oct 9th.
2) Call into the meeting to provide public comment in person, Thursday, Oct 10th, 9am: https://www.sfmta.com/calendar/iscott-meeting-1579-october-10-2024 (I recognize this is a much heavier lift for folks, though in-person comments are extremely valuable).
If you'd like to personalize your public comment, here are some great examples of other cities, near and far, to help get your imagination going:

Streets are for people!
Thanks for all the support,
