There is big news on improving safety in Griffith Park!!! Details will be announced this Friday the 19th at an event starting at 4pm and I have been in contact with the office of Councilmember Nithya Raman regarding this.

The offices of Assemblymember Laura Friedman and Councilmember Nithya Raman have announced the event, which is to be a summer celebration on Friday, August 19th. The celebration will be from 4 to 7pm at Travel Town in Griffith Park (5200 Zoo Drive). Per a statement from their offices, this is to:

“announce historic funding and safety improvements for Griffith Park: $4 million total for transportation infrastructure and facility improvements. In partnership with the Department of Recreation and Parks, the celebration will feature a community walk, bike, an equestrian ride, local food trucks, and ... an exciting update on the future of Griffith Park!

"The event is open to all—families with children, cyclists, hikers, anyone who enjoys Griffith Park and believes in the preservation of our natural habitats.

“Travel Town will be kept open until 7 PM with free train rides!”

Speakers at the celebration will include Assemblymember Laura Friedman, Councilmember Nithya Raman, Mayor Eric Garcetti and Jimmy Kim of the Department of Recreation and Parks.

Thank you for your support in sharing this petition and helping make change a reality!
