Thank you for your continued support in Making Griffith Park Safer for all Users.

Several concerned citizens have volunteered to help with more steps to increase the pressure on local and elected officials - the Griffith Park Action Team. We have met several times and got started on actions including doing our own speed survey of Crystal Springs Drive.

When two of the Griffith Park Action Team volunteers were in the park doing this survey, Park Rangers noticed them, asked what they were doing, and subsequently started to ticket speeding cars along Crystal Spring Dr -- 4 of them in a couple of hours.

Since starting our campaign, including this petition, three temporary speed feedback signs have been placed along Crystal Spring Dr.

There's still quite a bit of speeding but several times that I have been in the park, I watched a number of cars approach the feedback signs and suddenly start to slow down.  It's not a full solution at all, but it's a start!

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park just closed off a section to cars and Central Park went car free in 2018 so it can be done! Griffith Park is next!

Please help keep the momentum going in the following ways:

1. Make a “Transportation & Traffic Safety Request” to the office of CD4 Councilmember Nithya Raman using this form: https://councildistrict4.lacity.org/transpo-form Reference Zoo Drive and Crystal Springs Drive as well as the on/off ramps for the 5 Freeway that link directly into the park at Zoo Drive and any other area in the park you'd like to bring up. The more communication sent into CD4 that this is an issue, the more attention it will get to correct it.

2. Continue sharing this petition far and wide! Post it on your social media or re-post it if you already have in the past: https://www.change.org/Make_Griffith_Park_Safer

3. Join the Griffith Park Action Team. If you'd like to help, please email me at DamianKevitt@StreetsAreForEveryone.org. This does not require a major time commitment, just what you are willing and able to do.

Thank you again!

All the best, Damian Kevitt
