Apple, a direct competitor, already offers such lifesaving technology in many parts of the world, recognizing the universal need for safety. By not doing the same, Google is denying people the right to basic safety, which is not just unfair but potentially life-threatening.

Car accidents and falls are among the leading causes of injuries and fatalities worldwide. The World Health Organization highlights that 1.35 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes, while falls are the second leading cause of accidental deaths globally. When technology exists to help mitigate these tragedies, it is unconscionable that access to these features is restricted by geography.
