Flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports for women and girls nationwide. States like Florida, Georgia, and Nevada have already made it an official high school sport, and many colleges, including many Wisconsin schools, are now offering scholarships and opportunities for women’s flag football.

Here in Wisconsin, many girls want the opportunity to compete, represent their schools, and grow the game of football, but without WIAA sanctioning, we’re limited to club or recreational play. Sanctioning girls’ flag football would expand athletic opportunities for female athletes: 

• Provide a safe, low-cost, non-contact sport option
• Create a clear pathway to collegiate opportunities
• Build community, school spirit, and equity in sports

We’re asking the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) to recognize and sanction girls’ flag football as an official sport. By signing this petition, you’re showing your support for giving Wisconsin girls the chance to play the game they love.
