Dear Supporters of Making Girls Flag Football an Official Sport at Central Bucks School District,

We hope this update finds you well. We are writing to provide you with an update on the significant progress we have made in our efforts to make flag football an official sport in the Central Bucks School District. Many girls and parents have been hard at work, and we are thrilled to share our accomplishments to date along with the path forward.

Accomplishments to Date:

1. CBSD Athletic Strategic Plan Publication: Central Bucks School District took a significant step forward in our journey by completing a district-wide survey and publishing "The Athletic Strategic Plan for the Central Bucks School District" in July 2023. See link here to plan. This strategic plan includes a specific recommendation and process (See page 14; Section 3, Goal 1) to enable access and opportunity for new athletic opportunities, such as flag football. The plan underscores the district's commitment to expanding its athletic offerings and recognizes the potential benefits of introducing flag football to our students.

2. Administration's Guidance & Encouragement: The school administration has recommended that our girls take an active role in championing and advocating flag football within their respective schools. This approach empowers our students to identify and recruit a teacher sponsor who can help initiate a flag football club at their schools. This grassroots involvement ensures that the initiative aligns with the interests and aspirations of our students.

3. School Board and Administration Support: We are pleased to report that we have secured meaningful support from many within the existing school board and administration within the Central Bucks School District to establish flag football as an official sport. Their backing demonstrates a shared commitment to expanding the opportunities available to our students and highlights the significance of this initiative within the district.

Next Steps: As we move forward, we plan to capitalize on these achievements to further support our girls. Our next steps include:

1) Seek a student champion at Lenape Middle School.  We have identified student champions at Tohickon (Lahr family) and Holicong (Crowley family) Middle Schools.

2) Help coordinate and organize student groups to support the student champion at each of these schools.

3) Continue to grow and support the Penn Athletics Club program so our school efforts are sustainable for the future. Spread the word and invite your friends!

We remain steadfast in our goal of making flag football an official sport in the Central Bucks School District. The positive impact it can have on our students' lives, physical well-being, and sense of community cannot be overstated.

Breaking News: Flag Football is officially an Olympic Sport in 2028

We greatly appreciate your continued support and guidance throughout this journey. If you have any questions or would like to discuss our progress further, please do not hesitate to reach out to CBSDflagfootball@gmail.com.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Many Parents of girls that love Flag Football and want to represent their schools!
