Make General Carpentry a compulsory trade in Canada

Make General Carpentry a compulsory trade in Canada
The Issue
Many Canadians including myself have been directly impacted by the growing numbers of new individuals seeking employment in the currently open trade of General Carpentry due to our open borders.
Our Red Seal Carpenters and apprentices are being pushed out by unskilled labourers, individuals with no working experience creating unsafe working conditions across the province, zero standards being upheld and are willing to work for substandard wages.
Making this change, we can uphold our standards while maintaining accountability and integrity throughout the trade as a whole, including higher employment rates for apprentices and journeymen/ journeywomen, better schooling environments for our apprentices and maintaining higher working wages.
We need to work together for a common goal making General Carpentry compulsory trade and protecting the future of the trade.
