Every state in the Union has their own state symbols, including Birds, Songs and even foods. Some states even have state dinosaurs. North Dakota doesn't have a state dinosaur despite being home to one of the most famous dinosaur fossils in the world, Dakota the Edmontosaurus annectens.

Dakota is an Edmontosaurus who is complete with skin impressions, revealing information about her species like skin texture and even the fact they had hooves on their front legs. Dakota is world-renown for her preservation and is housed at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck. For this reason, our state dinosaur should be her species, Edmontosaurus annectens
