Make changing gender legally impossible in all 50 states

The Issue

Growing up, I remember being taught that your identity was formed from your experiences, values, and the body you were born in. Now, more than ever, our society seems to be in a state of confusion, especially for our children. I worry every day about the information they are exposed to and the messages that are so contradictory to what I believe is true.

I am a parent, and like any parent, I want what's best for my children. However, I'm concerned that the prevalent trend of gender transitioning is escalating into a society-wide mental health crisis. It seems to be influencing vulnerable individuals, making them question their identity and robbing them of the opportunity to embrace who they truly are from birth. We need to recognize this trend as what it is—a mental health issue that requires care and attention, not legal facilitation.

The opportunity for anyone to legally change their gender identity in a large number of states has implications that extend far beyond personal choice. It affects our schools, workplaces, and communities. The legal framework that allows this needs to be reconsidered to safeguard the mental well-being of future generations. Research from several experts indicates that many individuals who have transitioned later regret their decision, which signals that many transitions result from underlying issues that are not being addressed.

Our laws should reflect biological truths and align with the mental health support that many individuals genuinely need. I propose that we work together as a community to pass legislation that would prohibit gender change recognition in all 50 states of our country. This legislation must also be paired with improved mental health services that help those experiencing gender dysphoria in a positive and constructive manner, focusing on therapeutic support rather than surgical or medical alterations.

Join me in demanding our lawmakers take a stand to protect our children's futures and mental health. We owe it to ourselves, our families, and to future generations to take responsible action now. Please sign this petition to show your support and make a difference.
