Hi neighbours,
Just a quick update as we continue to push for a safer crossing at the Auburn road and Urquhart/Bowler street intersection.
As many of you would have noticed we have a new cafe that has opened up on this corner and we can expect even more demand for safer crossing to support this new business.
I followed up with the council team this morning and their response was:
“Hi Kirsten,
Thank you for checking in and letting us know about the new café on the corner of Auburn Road and Urquhart Street.
Since I last provided an update, I have received an interim response from the responsible Department of Transport officer to outline that they are reviewing the proposals. They apologised for the slow response. I have followed up with them again today to request another update. I also let them know that there is a new café on the corner of Auburn Road and Bowler Street which may increase the demand for pedestrian crossing facilities across Auburn Road.
We will continue to advocate for this project and can provide an update once we do receive a response from the Department of Transport.
