Petition updatePlease APPLE, eliminate the "Curaçao Bug" in iOS 11

maybe a provider issue after all?

Dear All, just today I received some new (unconfirmed) information from another local source on Curaçao which makes even more sence to me as I still cannot understand why the iOS 11 update lead to the known problem in just some regions and why it is limited to SIM cards of some providers while other providers' SIM cards work fine at same location. It seems that iOS 11 finally exclusively requires latest telecommunication technology or protocols which are available at most telecommunication providers already except for those that did not yet update their infrastructure and where the problem therefore occurs. It was told that such laggards would still need to make investments of approx. 150.000 Guilders to get caller IDs working again as usual but so far they were not willing to do so. I can imagine that beside the necessity of hardware and software updates at the providers it possibly might be even necessary to supply new SIM cards to all customers. If this all would somehow be true we can no longer blame Apple for the problem especially since Apple is perhaps trying to find a workaround for such providers, enabling them to avoid investments. However, what we can blame Apple and the providers for is their poor information policy. So far neither Apple nor the providers informed their customers about the reason for the issue and how long it may take to solve it.
