Over 29,000 of you have signed my petition — thank you so much. But to turn this campaign into real change, I need you to take one more step.
Please write to your MP using the draft letter below. It takes 2 minutes, and MPs receiving emails from their own constituents is exactly the kind of pressure that forces the government to act. Find your MP at writetothem.com, paste in the letter, and send it. Feel free to personalise the letter in your own words — even a short email saying you support the campaign helps.
Once you have received a reply, please forward this to jonathancampaigns1@gmail.com
After the recent terror attacks in Golders Green, antisemitism cannot become normalised. Education about antisemitism is key to fixing the roots of antisemitism in society.
Please also keep sharing the petition with your friends and family, and on social media — every signature counts. Let’s keep the momentum going and turn it into action.
Enough is enough. Education can change this.
Thank you so much,
Jonathan
Dear [MP's name],
I am writing to urge you to support making education about antisemitism mandatory in British schools.
Jonathan, a 16-year-old Jewish student, has been campaigning for this cause for three years — since he was 13 — after experiencing constant antisemitic bullying at school. After persuading his own school to implement education about contemporary antisemitism, he saw how powerfully it changed attitudes. His petition now has around 30,000 signatures. You can see it here: https://www.change.org/AntisemitismEducation
Jonathan states: "At the synagogue I go to, the Rabbi asked the youth group how many of us had experienced antisemitism. Every single person put their hand up. Every single one of us has been discriminated against purely because we are Jewish."
The recent terror attacks in Golders Green — stabbings near a synagogue and an arson attack on Jewish ambulances — make this more urgent than ever. Antisemitic bullying in schools and these violent attacks are all symptoms of the same hatred. We cannot let this become normalised. It is no longer enough to treat these symptoms with increased security alone, without addressing the root causes and wider societal attitudes.
That Jews have to be protected by security guards at every communal event against violent attacks should not, and must not, be accepted as normal in Britain.
Recent statistics reveal a disturbing trend. Antisemitic hate crimes are up in London by 1,350% since October 2023, and the Community Security Trust recorded 3,700 antisemitic incidents across the UK in 2024 alone — more than double the figure from 2022. Jewish people remain 500% more likely to be a victim of a hate crime than any other faith group per capita, according to Home Office statistics. Antisemitism is clearly on the rise, making it imperative to address the issue proactively.
Whilst Holocaust education is mandatory, this is evidently not sufficient. Too many people still regard antisemitism as a lesser form of hatred, and the current curriculum is not tackling it. Education can change this — it is the only way to address the root causes rather than simply reacting to each new incident.
This petition has around 30,000 signatures and is gaining momentum every day. As my representative in parliament, I urge you to take action — publicly support the campaign, raise the issue with ministers, and push the government to implement mandatory antisemitism education in British schools. We cannot afford to wait any longer to act.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely, [Your name]
