Make an Ice Scream Movie Adaptation

The Issue

Keplerians Horror Games a company based in Irún, Spain known for making well-made games appealing to mobile horror like Mr. Meat, Ice Scream, and Evil Nun as well as a few other games along with a new one coming on the way; Glitchmare. They posted a fan-made movie trailer based on their hit game, Ice Scream for April Fools day yesterday. Their games are pretty enjoyable, some not so much at least in my opinion but nonetheless they are all very enjoyable and fun and the developers did amazing making games, and I recommend giving them a shot when you get the chance.

Fun fact, one of the titular characters of their games -- Mr. Meat. He is voiced by no other than Mike Pollock, the man behind the popular villain, Dr. Eggman of the Sonic franchise. As well as Evil Nun's she is voiced by Tamara Ryan she voiced an English dubbed character from Dragon Ball like Android 18 as well as a few other anime characters. Last but not least Ben Sullivan, the voice actor of Rod who shares the same last name as Rod. (Fun fact the developers liked his last name so much they made it into the Rod's last name.) He voices one of the characters in a Netflix series called Love, Death and Robots.

All in all, they have some if not most notable voice actors, if you want to find out more information check out Keplerians 1 Million Subscriber Special on their Youtube channel.

For those unaware of what Ice Scream is, it's a horror game saga that came out on September 27th, 2019 and ended in June 14th, 2024. For a quick overview, it's a game where you have to save your friends who have been locked in captivity by an evil ice cream man, his name is Rod Sullivan who makes ice cream out of chubby children if you want to know why it was because as a kid he was bullied for being fat and his hatred grew among children as he got older.

The story is pretty complicated so I recommend you look up the game. (There are 8 games.) The game takes place in the 1980s, I would really recommend giving the games a try it's completely free with no charge at all, but there are ads. The Ice Scream saga does not have any blood or violence, making it mostly suitable for kids. One thing I'll say for sure is that the story gets deeper in not the first game, but the 2nd one goes more in depth behind Rod Sullivan's past.

Although this trailer was fake and only made for April Fools day, they do plan on making it a reality. They want to try to pitch it to Netflix, I think this would be pretty cool I could definitely see a potential on horror for this, with great execution this could be a great movie, now I'm not sure if it'll be for kids since most of the demographics of Keplerians users are mainly younger audiences, but they could try to work something out, while making it scary and horror based at the same time for everyone else as well.

Risk:

As much as this would be a dream to make it a reality, Netflix is known for being really picky on what they would like to show on their streaming platform, to appeal to their great audience especially since we're talking about millions of people using Netflix in the world who use it every day, it's basically a necessity. But with your help and support we can make this a reality. Video game adaptations are on the rise, and it would be nice to see this one join them as well.

Another one is, I would just say that Netflix should play or do research on all the Ice Scream games just to get a good reference at what they need to get right especially with the story, because the problem with most video game adaptations is they tend to strive away from the original source material story-wise as well as other things, I would say it's not much of a retcon but in the mind of the writers on how they think canonicity works.

For a second choice, if Netflix doesn't pick it up Amazon should. They're known for releasing plenty of video game adaptations of movies, on their streaming platform on Amazon Prime.

Now, I'm not quite sure if it would fit in movie theaters but if they do, one of my two options to make the film is Blumhouse Productions they did an excellent job with the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie, and the other option being Universal Pictures the main primary movie studio of Universal Studios.

Make sure to spread the word to your family, friends, or whoever you can try to get it to, so we can make this possible!

Here is the trailer down below that Keplerians made for April Fools day yesterday, and for reference here's the one of the beginning intros from the very first game right below the fan-made movie trailer just to get a reference of what Ice Scream is, as well as how the final game ended.

Down below it, are 2 songs from the franchise one from the 8th game and one from the 3rd game, the composer really nailed the feel of the 80s. Shoutout to Michael Schadow and Vincent Tobar for making the soundtracks.
