Good morning Super Supporters,

I’m writing to ask for your help because today I am doorstepping Procter & Gamble at their European Headquarters in Geneva, to return the giant tampon applicator and call on them to make three commitments.

The giant applicator is made from 1,200 Tampax applicators that were found polluting Britain’s beaches and waterways. I am returning this to P&G because they are the source of this unnecessary plastic, which is having avoidable negative impacts on the environment.

Despite meeting P&G, who own global period industry giants Tampax, and Always, at their UK headquarters in 2019, they have failed to make any changes. It isn’t good enough.

All the supermarkets and brands I have met are moving in the right direction, yet Tampax, and Always have taken a huge step backwards by increasing their number of product lines containing single-use plastic. It has been over two years since I met them, change can take time, but this is beyond a joke.

It is clear that we need collective and sustained action on all levels to tackle the plastic pollution epidemic, and that includes industry, which is why the campaign is calling on them to make three commitments:
1. Remove single-use plastic applicators from Tampax ranges.
2. Start working on reducing and removing plastic in Tampax and Always products.
3. Develop and launch reusable options.

Please raise your voice and take a stand with me by using social media to call on Procter & Gamble to make the three commitments. All the information you need to get involved is below, including a tweet template.
