Hi Super Supporters!

This morning I am excited to be sharing the news that decision maker Bodyform are launching a range of reusable period pants, and their parent brand Essity are including Tena in the launch too with reusable incontinence pants!

I met Bodyform back in October 2019 to talk about the campaign, how they could bring about change by removing plastic, as well as suggesting they start offering reusable period options. We’ve been having open conversations since and I am thrilled that they’ve followed through with this.

It is absolutely fantastic to see such a big player in the period industry like Bodyform, leading the way and taking steps to become more sustainable, by moving into the reusable market! This will make reusable options more accessible for consumers and will help switching to green choices easier.

Bodyform said - “We’re all looking for ways to live more sustainably and the desire to be greener is accelerating. One of the key factors in becoming more environmentally friendly is having widespread availability of more sustainable options when it comes to everyday essentials. Our new reusable pants for Bodyform and TENA provide a sustainable alternative that will help guide more people towards a greener lifestyle.

Ella approached Essity in 2019 and challenged us to challenge ourselves as part of the #EndPeriodPlastic campaign. Since then, we’ve stayed in regular contact discussing ideas and working towards more sustainable options. Ella’s approach with businesses and brands is to be collaborative and that has undoubtedly helped us in developing the launch of our reusable pants.”

Reusable underwear, whatever the brand, cannot be fully plastic-free because of the absorbency material needed in the gusset to make them leak-proof. They can be used again and again for years to come, which makes them a great option as you cut out the plastic waste from disposable products.

Bodyform and Tena reusable underwear are available in sizes 8-20, and will be stocked in Tesco stores from today, as well as on their online shops.

This is such a positive step and I’m really pleased that Essity has included Tena in this launch as incontinence products, like tampons and pads contain a lot of plastic, and it is another area that rarely gets spoken about due to stigma.

Thank you for all your continued support with this campaign, I hope that you and those around you are safe and well during this chaotic time.

Ella :)
