Hi Super Supporters!
Today I am absolutely delighted to be able to share the news that Caerphilly Council has made the decision to use all of their period poverty funding on eco-friendly products!!
As you know I’ve been urging councils across Wales as well as the Welsh and UK Government to tackle period poverty, the plastic crisis and protect the environment simultaneously by using the fund on eco-friendly products.
One of the councils I contacted was Caerphilly, who I’ve been working closely with over the past six months. From the first meeting I’ve been overjoyed by their enthusiasm and determination to making sure the fund would be spent in a sustainable way.
Their forward-thinking attitude to creating positive change is refreshing and goes to show the difference that can be made! This is a landmark first in Wales, the UK and I believe worldwide. I am thrilled by this move and so proud to have been part of this. We need more councils and governments following in their footsteps and making green choices like this.
I’m also pleased to announce that the campaign and this news has been put on the BBC Wales website (link below!) and a video will be featuring this evening at 6:30pm on BBC One Wales!
