Growing up, I've always envisioned a future where I would eventually start a family. Just like many women, my dream includes having children of my own. However, I also understand the surprises and challenges that life can bring. As someone who looks forward to having a family, I find it crucial that I have the power to make decisions about my reproductive health, especially in unforeseen circumstances.

Across the United States, the accessibility of abortion services remains inconsistent and, in many states, severely restricted. Recent years have seen a patchwork of laws that make it difficult for women to exercise their rights over their bodies and reproductive choices. This restrictive landscape contributes to increased stress, potential health risks, and deeply impacts the quality of life for numerous women who may find themselves in precarious situations.

According to the Guttmacher Institute, nearly 1 in 4 women in the U.S. will have an abortion by the age of 45. This underscores the prevalence of the procedure and highlights the reality faced by women on a daily basis. Yet, restrictive laws continue to infringe upon the fundamental right to choose, often placing women in situations where they must travel long distances, seek out costly services, or even turn to unsafe methods.

It's time for change.
