The Lightning Rangers were a team adapted from the 1987 Japanese Tokusatsu series Hikari Sentai Maskman. According to Gosei, these Rangers came from an unknown planet outside of Earth using the power of aura. They also use kuji kiri ninja techniques in order to activate their abilities. For example, Red uses Zai, Black uses Jin, Blue uses Retsu, Yellow uses Tou, and Pink uses Rin.

On Super Megaforce, Blue and Yellow are the only Rangers to appear on screen for no specific reason like the other Pre-Zyu Rangers. Some fans believe that the reason these Rangers are here is all because of lazy writing. They even wonder where the Lightning Rangers specifically came from, like if the came from another planet or a different dimension.

Hopefully, Boom! Studios can answer all of our questions by making a comic book on how the Lightning Rangers really became legendary. That way, we can find out how they got their powers, what their weapons names are, where they came from, and who they battled. We all know that the Morphin Masters were responsible making rare artifacts such as the Energems and the Ninja Nexus Prism, so maybe they can give us a clue as well.
