Maintain Black Scrubs for Critical Care Nurses in Nassau Bay, TX
The Issue
As a dedicated team of Critical Care nurses working tirelessly in the Emergency Room and ICU units in Nassau Bay, TX, we have come to value our black scrubs. We believe they not only provide a unique identity to our unit but also play an important role in maintaining morale among staff members. The color black differentiates us during codes and helps us maintain a semblance of cleanliness amidst the often messy and challenging conditions we work under.
Switching to blue scrubs would mean dealing with visible stains from vomit, blood, and diarrhea more frequently - an unnecessary burden on top of our already demanding roles. According to a study published by the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC), darker colored uniforms can help hide stains better than lighter colors which could potentially reduce stress among healthcare workers.
We urge you to consider our plea rooted deeply in practicality as well as sentimentality. Our black scrubs are more than just uniforms; they are part of who we are as critical care nurses providing vital services within this community. Please support us by signing this petition so that we may continue wearing our black scrubs with pride and dignity.
