A lot of children are being ignored, not helped, laughed at or discriminated against because not enough Mainstream schools have the correct or appropriate funding, training or teachers who understand how to help a child who presents with SEND.

SEND is becoming more and more presenting in children today and a lot of children are being failed one way or other. It needs to stop now! 

There isn’t any funding to be able to get the correct training in place for teachers to help and be able to put all the safety measures, but the correct equipment - mainly things such as fidget toys, wobble cushions and ear defenders. They need training to help understand the needs of that individual child. 

Our daughter has inspired us to create this petition because she’s being failed currently in school and she has ADHD. She rocks, which is one of the main coping mechanisms of ADHD and AUTISM. But the other day a teacher told her to ‘stop rocking because it’s a distraction’. NO ONE, should be telling a child who presents with SEND to stop doing anything. It could make them worse.
