We need to encourage our high schools to have mandatory sensitivity training for our female, and LGBTQ youth in school. A student who is Cis-Male can wear sleeveless shirts however we restrict females from tank tops. The specific issue brought up is a trans female who just came out is restricted from fully expressing her true form, here she has hidden her whole life and due to sexist and hypocritical regulation on clothing her self expression is minimized. By restricting self expression in our youth too much we minimize creativity, imagination, and comfortability in our future. These youth are our future, we need to allow them to spread their wings a little. This will allow our young adults to improve their grades and desire for attendance. I also feel stricter restrictions on verbal and physical attacks toward women and minorities would improve our schools more than stepping on their human right to expression. This particular complaint was based on Bangor High however I am sure many more schools need this implementation.
