Needed-Elderly friendly services at Club Mahindra resorts

The Issue

Club Mahindra members invest their hard earned money into the membership so that the entire family can enjoy their annual vacation together.

The membership charges are for a term of 25 years and there is an additional annual subscription fee.

A family obviously contains elderly people (with or without some mobility challenges) and also its members will grow old during their term of membership.
Sadly, Club Mahindra resorts are not equipped with even the basic facilities for the elderly.

This petition is to make the membership elderly friendly by implementing ATLEAST the following:-

  1. Rooms accessible via wheelchairs
  2. Hand/support rails in the bathrooms
  3. Hand/support rails in the toilets
  4. Disabled/Elderly friendly vehicles for commuting within the resort premises
  5. Availability of information about the above points on the online booking portal. 

As a member I have raised this issue and shared my concerns with their customer support since last 2 years. However, these have not yielded any results.

It's true that in India, the level of awareness about the needs of elderly people is very less and very few hotels/resorts/holiday homes factor in the special needs of the elderly people so that they can enjoy the holiday like everybody else.

However, what's shocking is that a company which is suppose to have a global outlook can ignore such basic needs of the elderly.

I request you all to help us win this change so that its a reason for other holiday companies and resorts to follow suit.This change will help our elderly family members to enjoy the holiday just like we do. In the long run it will be a blessing for us as well.

If such companies are unable to provide these basic amenities to its members then they should refund the membership money with interest.
