Each and every Thanksgiving Day for over decades, Macy’s puts on a fabulous parade in New York City bringing balloons of classic characters, past & present pop culture figures in addition to famous celebrities. This parade is a tradition and brings joy to all and makes Thanksgiving Day a wonderful celebration.

In honor of the hit '80s comedy film franchise Ghostbusters, I’m suggesting that balloons of the classic characters from the movie be included. To see the popular Ecto-1 Ghostbuster vehicle in addition to Slimer or other movie figures would be a blast.

Ever since watching the parade in the past, I keep on imagining Ecto-1 riding on the streets of Manhattan like in the movies and cartoons where it took place. Whether the original from '84 or the other from the 2016 reboot, your choice.

Now, I really want it to happen on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade whether this year or next, it really has to work for Ghostbuster fans like me. After all, Ghostbusters is one of the all-time great comedies in movie history and has provided so much joy and laughter to so many people.

It also would be a great tribute to one of its stars and writer, Harold Ramis (d. 2014) and director Ivan Reitman (d. 2022).
