Macarthur Deserves Better Connectivity to WSI Airport : Before It’s Too Late

The issue

Macarthur is being left behind. With no railway or metro link planned to the new Western Sydney International Airport, our community risks missing out on jobs, growth, and opportunity. We’re calling for immediate action: dedicated T‑Way priority transit lanes along Narellan Road and The Northern Road to ensure fast, reliable bus services that connect our region to the airport. Macarthur deserves better  and we deserve it now.

Macarthur stands at a turning point. Just next door, the Western Sydney International Airport is rising,  a project that should bring opportunity, jobs, and economic growth to our region. Yet many in our community feel a growing concern: without a real plan to connect Macarthur, this historic development may pass us by.

Our region deserves more than to watch progress from the sidelines. We deserve to be part of it. An airport of this scale should open doors for our young people, strengthen local businesses, and integrate Macarthur into a thriving Western Sydney. But with no confirmed railway or metro link on the horizon, that promise feels uncertain.

We understand that major infrastructure takes time. But while we plan for tomorrow, we can act today. That’s why we are calling for a practical, immediate, and achievable step:

✔️ Establish priority transit lanes : a dedicated “T‑Way”  along Narellan Road and The Northern Road.

This is more than a transport upgrade. It is an investment in our community’s future:

• Faster, more reliable commutes for parents, workers, and students

• Direct access to thousands of new jobs at and around the airport

• Stronger support for local businesses through improved connectivity

• A clear message that Macarthur is ready to grow, contribute, and thrive

This is an achievable first step toward the fair, connected future our region deserves.

We cannot allow Macarthur to sit in the shadow of progress , so close to opportunity, yet disconnected from its benefits. This is about fairness, foresight, and belief in the potential of our community.

Together, we can make our voice impossible to ignore.

We call on our representatives at every level of government to advocate urgently and decisively for this essential link. Macarthur must not be overlooked as Western Sydney moves forward.

Our region deserves better, and we deserve it now.
