Dear 2A Warriors,
It looks like our petition is about to pay off. The newly elected City Council has apparently added our 2A Sanctuary Resolution to the official agenda to discuss and pass next Tuesday at their official meeting.
It is never too late to do the right thing. We have labored long and hard to get Lynchburg on the map as a sanctuary for Constitution Abiding Citizens. For too long we had a corrupt oath breaking City Council in Lynchburg that did not stand up and support the state and US Constitution and empower Lynchburg Citizens when we needed them most. Instead we have watched Lynchburg become a sanctuary for violent criminals. But that may be about to change.
The new Republican Majority Council will have an opportunity to right this wrong January 10th at 7:30 at Lynchburg City Hall. I hope you will join me there to express your support for empowering Lynchburg Citizens and recognizing that we are the immediate responders to all crimes because we are always there before the police when our fellow citizens need medical attention or protection from violent criminals. We are always the first ones there when a thug breaks into our home and threatens our family. We are always the first one on the scene when a crazed person kills an innocent bartender in a local family restaurant for no reason.
Civilians can prevent crime and we can care for the wounded crime victims. The Commonwealth of Virginia has recognized this with their Department of Criminal Justice Services Civilian Response and Casualty Care (CRCC) training and Lynchburg City Council should too.
I hope you will join me in emailing and calling Lynchburg City Council and encouraging them to do the right thing and vote to bring the city into the large list of Virginia localities that passed the 2A Sanctuary resolution overwhelmingly. Remind them that over 1000 Lynchburg citizens attended the largest public hearing in Lynchburg history to overwhelmingly support this resolution. We stayed and spoke till 2 am in the morning only to be summarily rejected by the last corrupt Council. But Tuesday could be a new day.
I prayed for this for the last 5 years. I have signed up to speak. I have printed a fresh copy of the 3000+ signatures to this petition to present to Council.
