Lyme Regis Town Council have rejected recommendations from the RNLI Lifeguards to put a new elevated lifeguard station on the main beach in Lyme Regis, BECAUSE IT LOOKS UGLY!

The basis of their decision was on appearance and the fact other beaches don't even have one, "so we are lucky". This is what we will tell the parents who loses a child due to the fact that they could not be seen. "Sorry mr and mrs regis, your child could not be seen by the lifeguards but if you turn around look how pretty the beach is".

Hundreds of people visit this extremely busy seaside town in the summer and anything that can make the beach safer for everyone should be properly considered. The RNLI that understands the dangers of the sea more than anyone have recommended this. I ask you all to sign this to get the Council to reconsider their decision.
