Hello!

For those that celebrate, I hope you had a blessed Eid!

I'm so, so grateful to you all. Thanks to your support, we are nearly at our goal of 2,000 signatures (although I won't say no to more!). I am more determined than ever to reach that goal within the next few days and schedule a meeting with the Lake Washington School District Board and put this case forward. In the meantime, please make sure to share this petition so we can reach our goal!

This Eid, I realized how special and important this cause is to me. I was in New Jersey, and learned that the Jersey City district has made Eid a school holiday, meaning kids get the whole day off! When we were at the mosque, kids that would normally be in classes (or losing grades because they decided to take the day off) were able to enjoy the day with their families and friends. I was more determined to make that a reality in King County as well. Muslim children shouldn't have to choose between their faith and their future.

Again, I ask you to spread this petition around as much as you can, through social media, and your friends and families. I really appreciate your support, and I truly believe we can make this happen.
