Berkeley Heights is continuing its Slow Down in Our Town campaign, moving to the neighborhood around Governor Livingston High School—and you can join in! The initiative involves placing signs in lawns along roads leading to the school, as well as common cut-throughs, for two weeks. In addition, stickers placed on recycling bins will remain visible as a reminder to drivers every time you put your bins out for pickup.

The signs are then rotated to other high-visibility and high-traffic areas in town to make drivers there aware of the town's commitment to road safety and so that drivers don't get overly used to seeing them in one place. The signs eventually get rotated back to key roadways as needed, which in the case of G.L. would be at the start of the school year in September.

If you live on any streets near G.L. with significant through-traffic, you can pick up lawn signs and bin stickers at 11 Ford Place from now through May 11.

• Take two signs and place them with one facing each direction on the road. If you have a larger lot or corner lot, you can take two additional signs.

• Take 1 to 2 stickers per recycling bin and place them on sides visible to the street. Only place them on bins you own. Do not place them on any bins you lease from your trash pickup company.

Return the signs to the same location between May 17 and 18 for the town to distribute to the next location.
