I've lived with celiac disease for 15 years in the UnitedKingdom. Once upon a time, I could get gluten-free food right on prescription. That's no longer possible. What makes it worse is that the price of gluten-free food keeps skyrocketing. It breaks my heart that something so fundamental to my health and wellbeing is becoming pricier and less accessible. 

Celiac disease affects about 1 in 100 people worldwide, and the only known treatment is a strict, lifelong gluten-free diet. However, research has indicated that gluten-free products are 242% more expensive than their gluten-containing counterparts (University of Chicago Celiac Disease Center). This creating a significant monetary burden for individuals with celiac disease, like me, seeking necessary dietary foods.

It's time for change. It's time for grocery stores, food producers, and our governments to recognize and rectify the monetary disparity between gluten-free foods and regular food items. We need policies that will help reduce the cost of gluten-free foods, making them accessible to all who need them. Please join me in signing this petition.
