I am now 18. I have already voted once yesterday for a local election (I had pre-registered, so I was automatically registered when I became 18, well Michigan, automatically registered at 17.5 but I wouldn't been available to vote in the presidential election). I would like to still campaign for this regardless. I have been at this petition for this amount of time where it's hard to turn back. The way you get stuff done is by not giving up, even when you grow out of the age group you are campaigning for to get their voices heard. What I voted for yesterday was to improve the schools. A majority of votes agree (it came in 52 to 48, close but it still allowed for more funding to go for the schools, I was part of the 52% that voted yes). No taxes will rise but funding will shift for the schools (I feel why it was so close is that some people may believe their taxes will go up but zero mil increase means no taxes are increased at all). At least students in the Watervliet, Michigan school district could have better education. It will be a step toward people being well educated by 16 in this area. We still got to get the voting age down to 16 as it would help promote government education early on nationwide. I feel like it could be good to give my recent personal experience.
