Today is former president Andrew Jackson's birthday. He served from 1829 to 1837. He is known for helping with the foundation of the Democratic party (though the party was much different than what it is today, back then some beliefs were in line with the modern Republican party. Some may still be like the modern democratic party). He had served in both chambers of Congress for Tennessee, serving in the Senate from September 1797 to resignation the following April and again from 1823 to 1825, and in the House from 1796 to 1797. He has been a more controversial president as he was cited as an advocate for working Americans but his policies had been deemed racist, particularly against Native Americans. Trump had cited his favorite president is Jackson.
We haven't gained a single signature since I last updated the other day. We still have 55 signatures. 45 more till 100. We should have 100 by now but we don't. Remember to do as much as you can as I can't do it all myself. Share (or reshare if already shared), leave a comment, and/or promote (promoting costs money but it helps push it out of our groups, it could show it to people we don't know). This update helps with people finding it through tags but still, it could still be a good idea for those who already signed to do something. I probably won't post another update until Monday, of which is Saint Patrick's Day.
Here's links to other petitions I would want to include from now on to make sure those who want to sign will sign as sharing multiple times could have a greater effect:
Make Election Day a Federal Holiday (some of you might already have signed it but still share it for those who might not have): https://www.change.org/MakeElectionDayAFederalHolidayUS
Impose Term Limits on U.S. Congress: https://www.change.org/TermLimitsForUSCongress
