As an environmentalist, I am deeply pained to witness the destruction of natural habitats for the sake of parking lots, storage rooms, factories and more. The homes of countless animals are being eradicated, forcing these creatures into areas that are not their natural habitats. This displacement is practically a death sentence for many of them.

When I was little, I remember waking up at 6am, and walking my dog in the woods. When I was 12, my family moved out, and 2 years later they tore down the forest I grew up in. I was heartbroken.

Our planet is suffering from climate change, and our actions contribute significantly to this crisis. Polar bears and many other species are on the brink of extinction due to our environmentally harmful practices such as excessive use of plastic items, reliance on gas cars, rampant deforestation, and pollution from manufacturing buildings. Climate change also affects how us people live. It makes the air less clean, and more people die with lung problems. 

According to a report by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), around 27000 species are currently at risk due to habitat loss caused by human activities. Furthermore, NASA's climate studies reveal that global temperatures have risen by 1.9 degrees Fahrenheit since 1880 largely due to human activities.

It's high time we take responsibility for our actions and make changes in our lifestyle choices that can help slow down climate change and protect wildlife. We need policies in place that restrict environmentally harmful practices like deforestation and excessive use of plastics while promoting sustainable alternatives like renewable energy sources.
