My family are so grateful for the message of support with our campaign to lower the bowel cancer screen age to include younger people. It’s frightening to think right now a young person is walking around with undiagnosed bowel cancer, however if early screening is available to all age groups, it could be detected far early on when treatments are more effective. Saving a young person’s life, instead of allowing them to slip through the screening net and cutting their life short. Leaving family and friends devastated and heartbroken. Early detection and intervention is key to improving survival rates in younger age groups. Let’s continue to push this campaign further by sharing this petition and getting this policy changed to include more age groups.

During the time Rob fell ill in 2019 I started a diary to be able to cope with them emotions we all feel when a sibling or a close family member falling seriously ill. It was away to express those inner thoughts we struggle with or the intrusive thoughts that keep you awake at night. When my brother passed away, I continued to keep writing entries relating to grief and finding ways to cope with our lose. We all handle bereavement differently, surprisingly writing seem to be away of coping with the pain and process everything. I made a promise to my brother I would keep his memory alive for the sake of his young son, who is sadly growing up without his Dad. So I made the decision to self-publish the diary in aid of Marie Curie charity, not only are they amazing people, but they were there helping me care for my brother in his final months.
