And I think this time it will stick! We were able to meet with the Board of Supervisors and make them aware that the new "administrative process" for excessive animal noise could be used by complainers with a sole intent to harass and intimidate through abuse of the system. They assigned an "independent" animal control agent to "thoroughly investigate" our case and it's entire two-year history and, as a result, the citation against us was nullified and the hearing canceled. They assured us that any future complaints will be thoroughly vetted so as to prevent abuse of the complaint process. We were also thanked for bringing "potential challenges" with the new process to their attention and they are looking into fixing the law so that the same thing cannot happen to other people.
