Los Angeles held the Super Bowl yesterday, and 70,000 people gathered unmasked, along with Mayor Garcetti himself.  Today, kids are going back to school with mask mandates.  Los Angeles County remains the only county in the state/nation with full vaccination and mask requirements. 

Meanwhile, the Board of Supervisors could not abide the Sheriff not enforcing vaccination requirements for his deputies.  So they voted 4-0 (Barger was the sole abstention) to strip the sheriff of his authority to enforce the mandate.  This means they could fire up to 4000 deputies despite his objections.  This would effectively defund the Sheriff without any vote by their constituents.

This is too much hypocrisy to stand. 

Out petition has grown to 4000 supporters, and continues to grow.  We cannot be the only county in the nation with this kind of insanity.  We will be contacting all five Supervisors with the petition today, and we urge you to contact them as well.  

Keep in mind each of these Supervisors represents their own supervisorial district.  Click here to find out who represents you.

Kathryn Barger (5th district) - be sure to thank her for being the one voice of sanity in the county.

Janice Hahn (4th district) - could also be friendly on this issue.

Holly Mitchell (2nd district) - not as friendly - also uses "health racism" language - but she is serving a reduced term.  She also serves some of the neighborhoods hardest hit by transient camps.  Pointing out the health hazard hypocrisy might hit her hard.

Hilda Solis (1st district) - unknown.  She may be facing a recall.

Sheila Kuehl (3rd district) - not friendly - this was her motion to override the Sheriff.
