Still chugging on!

Although we have been denied the opportunity to formally present our petition at next week's general council meeting, we will be putting forward three questions and these are: 1. Does the Council acknowledge that there is a public health problem with the daily accumulation of rubbish bags along Penge High Street? 2. What steps, if any, are being taken to tackle this problem? 3. Why is an e-petition with over 600 signatures around this issue any less valid for presentation to general council meetings than a paper petition, when e-petitions provide names and postcodes, and are as easy to cross reference and check as paper ones? The general council meeting is next week and I will post Bromley Council's response when received. Please don't confuse this with the Penge Forum meeting which is on 13th July, 7.30pm, Penge Congregational Church, and which I hope many of you will be able to attend. We will have the opportunity to meet with Council officials and put our questions and ideas to them directly. If you need to contact me directly with any ideas or questions you can do so at pengepetition@gmail.com
