Green light given from the LCC Road Infrastructure Planning team

Sadly we have recently heard that the Wuraga road upgrade was approved by the Logan City Council Road Infrastructure Planning team and pasted over to the design team.
The development of this new road will increase traffic along Mount Warren Blvd and Rochester Dr as well as destroy core koala habitat.
An Environmental Impact Statement has not been conducted by Logan City Council. However, if they just checked the QLD globe it is easily identified this is allocated for Koala habitat. Thereby needing consideration of state code 25 - Development in South East Queensland Koala habitat areas.
Additionally, the 10 million dollar upgrade to Beaudesert-Beenleigh road will not include connection to the new intersection at mount warren blvd. This development will increase traffic along mount warren blvd and will impact school dropoff and pick up and potentially devalue properties. Congestion will build during peak hours at the Rochester and Milne roundabout.
Other alternatives are available to Logan City Council. Potential cheaper and quicker options that don't require bridges and loss of koalas. Including the development of a one-way road travelling to Harburg and tallagandra St, and the use of the existing road for travel to Brookhaven.
Have your say, sign our petition and advise Logan City Council lack of planning cant go on. We need roads for our future and not quick fixes at the risk of our flora and fauna.
