Thank you for signing this petition. 88,000 people have signed in the since yesterday morning - which shows how urgently Lloyds of London should change their position. If you have doubts whether this petition will help, take a look at the news: Companies are cancelling their ties with the NRA at a remarkable rate because of people like us are making our voices heard. The momentum is with us, but there are a couple of things you can do to help push this thing over the line: 1) If you have not already done so, please SHARE the petition via Facebook and social media. This comes down to simple maths: If each person who signs can recruit two more people to sign, petition growth will be exponential and the pressure on Lloyds of London will become unbearable. 2) If you use Twitter, please tweet links to the petition or discuss the issues using some or all of the following hashtags and names: #NoLloydsLondonGunDeaths @IngaBeale @LloydsofLondon #BoycottNRA Inga Beale is the CEO of Lloyds of London and I intend to write to her in person within the next 24 hours; a bit of a twitter storm will put a little wind in our sails! Please avoid being abusive or rude - we are concerned citizens, parents and likely customers of Lloyds: our concerns are not fringe or extreme and we want the CEO to do the right thing in the spirit of Corporate Social Responsibility. In my letter, I will draw attention to the petition and press her to take action. I will put particular emphasis on the 'gun show loophole' and the fact that Lloyds of London is providing cover for events where there are unregulated private sales of semi-automatic rifles without background checks. At this stage, I do not think we should call for a 'general' boycott of Lloyds of London, but we need to be clear that this is the direction of travel if they do not act promptly. Let us start off by giving the CEO, Inga Beale, the benefit of the doubt and assume that she does not know about this ethical miss-step by her company. If she fixes the problem, we should praise her for doing so. UK Signatories: Please note that Lloyds of London and the Bank, Lloyds TSB are entirely separate companies. As far as I can see there is no need to be grumpy with the bank, Lloyds TSB on this particular issue. Richard ps. I have set up a twitter account @NRAGunBoycott please follow if you want more regular updates.
